The History of Irrland
Irrland was created in 1999 as a sideline to a farm. The couple Johannes and Josefine Winkels-Tebartz van Elst started with a corn maze and a few discarded toys from their own children. Over time, a petting zoo, pony rides, and other play equipment were added. The park has been continuously expanded over the years. In 2010, the grounds and buildings of the neighboring flower and bird park "Plantaria" were also taken over, doubling the size of the park.
Sustainability in Irrland
For us, sustainability is not a one-off project, but an integral part of our corporate development. In recent years, we have extensively refined and improved our water and energy strategy.
The result: reduced resource consumption, greater self-sufficiency, and a responsible approach to our environment.
Using Water Sustainably
Since 2022, we have been implementing a completely revised water management plan. Instead of continuously drawing groundwater, the water is treated, purified, and reused in a closed-loop system.

In parallel with our water management plan, we are consistently investing in the expansion of our solar power systems.

- Dual Use of Existing Space
- Self-sufficiency with solar power on sunny days
- Excess energy is fed into the public grid
- 26 charging stations for electric vehicles powered by their own solar energy
- 100% green electricity from certified suppliers
